Jessica Cox suffered a rare birth defect and was born without any arms. None of the prenatal tests her mother took showed there was anything wrong with her. And yet she was born with this rare congenital disease, but also with a great spirit.
The psychology graduate can write, type, drive a car, brush her hair and talk on her phone simply using her feet. Ms Cox, from Tuscon, Arizona, USA, is also a former dancer and double black belt in Tai Kwon-Do. She has a no-restrictions driving license, she flies planes and she can type 25 words a minute.

Wow! This is amazing. It’s great that she didn’t let the fact that she was born with no arms limit her. She’s still like everyone else.
When I took a shotgun cartridge point blank in my ankle, a friend born with no arms came to my bed (in hospital) and said.. “hey worse things could happen”. She was of course totally right! I’ve still got this useless limb some 8 years later and can only say that sometimes, one is better off without the hang ups. Amazing how we place so much importance on fitting in… is it not?

I wish a lot more people had Jessica’s character – the world would a better place. I hope everyone will be inspired to excel like Jessica rather than letting circumstances get the better of them. I also salute the parents for raising Jessica with the will to achieve anything she wants.
shes obviously a blessing in alot of peoples lifes, including mine, i have both arms and cant do half the stuff she does! that makes me want to strive even harder to do the things im not only required to do but things i have wanted to do for a long time, very good inspiration, therefore i do bellieve she has even touched my life with her blessing.

Great Achievement
This reminds me of a pilot I met back in my hometown who was an amputee without legs. Seeing as it was pretty easy for him to pilot a plane no problem, I guess it’d make sense for someone without arms to do the same. Good on her anyway, though.

she is so amazing! i admire her so much. now i realize that there are nothing can stopped you achieving ur dreams. i also want to become a pilot but i’m worried i won’t be accepted because of my height. after saw this pics, i will try an will never gave up to become a pilot! may god bless her so much!

…The really weird bit for me is the picture of the young Jessica who looks like she has been entered in the Texan Little Miss Whore Pageant. I mean the make-up job and clothes are just disgusting, what on earth were her parents thinking that day?…
Wilfred…it looks like it was a ballet recital, especially since she’s wearing a tutu and the article says she danced, and although pageants with little girls are wrong in my opinion as well, it’s not uncommon to let little girls play “dress up” once in a while for things like ballet recitals. Also, as a Texan myself…I’d like to ask, what does Texas have to do with someone from Tucson, Arizona? And your use of the word “whore” when describing a little girl is disturbing. My question would be what were YOU thinking when you wrote that?
And on the actual subject…I’m very impressed with all her accomplishments. She’s done more than most people who have their arms.

Superlatives fail me. This young woman is the epitome of what humans are capable of. While we may not all have her drive and determination, we can all be inspired. Improvise, adapt, overcome.
